Sarah CR Clark
120 + 1 species of Sepiida
When the end comes
you can have my standard-issue space suit
I would rather refashion my skin
into a cuttlefish here at home
adapting at the speed of thought
NOW red with bumps to blend into coral
NOW pulse black and white to hypnotize
I will glide through the turquoise sea
not the ruddy dust of Mars
in a clinically sterile rover
NOW toasted white rough like sand
to soar within this inner space
plucking fresh crab with my tentacles
inking with the sheer joy of being earthbound
